do not be fooled by the promises that new owners will continue to allow existing rights and practices of access for all different types of user. Our experience locally has been that charities and local authorities running local woodlands have fenced off and restricted public access particularly by bike and horse. They have been deaf to all our attempts to re-instate the access we once enjoyed. Will we need to re visit this issue as they did in the past by mass tresspass?
I remain unconvinced that there will be sufficient expertise to properly manage the woodlands for wildlife and for the health and variety of the plants and trees growing in them

Please save our forests and do not sell them off. No legislation will secure them and a loophole whereby they can be sold on in the future will happen.

To sell off our forests with pretext that the policy will protect trees and wild life and enhance public access is obviously non sense. This is Tory political philosophy pure and simple so why should we be surprised. Tories and now Lib Dems will always behave like Tories.

I live near Cannock Chase some parts of this forest have 600 year old trees. I walk through these forests, I find their beauty is enchanting and magical. The wild life, the Treecreepers, Nuthatches, Robins, Wrens and countless other bird species are a delight. To walk through these ancient woods is to come alive. If the Government allows this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to vanish to be replaced with theme parks, shooting lodges, housing estates; then this will be an act of vandalism. I guess these urbanite politicians have no love of our natural heritage but does this mean you should desecrate them and ruin everyone else’s enjoyment. HANDS OFF THE NATIONS FORESTS!

Lease ... Don't Sell.
Repeat mistake ... like school playgrounds.
Once sold they are lost forever.
Poorly thought out, short sighted and a bad politacal decision.
A good decision will stand the test of time. This decision will not.
